Any piece in this series would look beyond cute above a home bar.

While brainstorming ideas for a client, this fun & quirky idea popped into my head. Even though that project went another direction, I couldn't resist running with this train of thought anyway. That's how this "Piping Plover Party" series was born.

Perfect for winos & birdwatchers alike, this series features piping plovers getting into all sorts of mischief. Some sea stars joined in on the fun, too.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them :

New Table Cards, Help Me Get the Word Out

Since my lobster cards have been so popular over the past few years, I decided to introduce two new instructional table cards to my line.

These fun new pieces need to be a part of some delicious seafoodie events and I need your help in getting the word out. Do you know anyone who does an annual crab feast or crawfish boil? And can you make sure they send me an invitation to join in on the feast? (Ok, second question is in fact a joke. You got me. Introverted Jackie doesn't really like parties at all. Can you make sure they send me a To Go box?)

Found these adorable pewter crab place card holders by Pottery Barn over on Pinterest. Perfect match!

I've still officially only eaten crawfish once, but watched hours of YouTube videos to train for that momentous occasion at the Sarasota Seafood and Music Festival.

How to Eat a Lobster Table Card Redesign

I've mentioned it before (and it's been mentioned to me countless times at outdoor festivals, "You don't throw the fins away!" blah blah blah...), my How to Eat a Lobster instructions were in need of some tweaks. So! A few weeks ago, I released the new and improved :

How to Eat a Lobster Table Cards! Purchase them here.

Even got to test them out w/ a lobster bake for one ( Matt cheated & had lobster mac'n'cheese ).

Over the years, tons of people have shared photos of my lobster cards in use.

If you're having a lobster bake, I'd love to see how you're using my cards. Email me pics of your yummy event  ( hi@jackiemaloney.com )

How to Open Clams

Seriously, how beautiful is this basket of clams ?! I love the deep inky blues the clams have when he first pulls them out from the mud.I see another clammy painting in my not-too-distant future.

I have been itching to add to my "How To" series for awhile and a mini-break from art festivals in early May let that happen. Doesn't hurt that my fisherman boyfriend supplies me with tons of inspiration when he's working on the bay.

Second thingy I want to share : I am revisiting some of my older instructional pieces. After years of having people suggest/argue with the steps to eating a lobster, etc., I am jumping back into and adding some more tips for those struggling with seafood.

Some cosmetic tweaks are in the works too. My first piece in this series was completed in 2010 so they could use a little love.

YES I made changes, but I need to say one important thing. Eating anything is intuitive and the only way to find your way is to try it yourself (especially picking crabs, which is now newly updated. Check out that hand lettering I painted with my liner brush & the note about the "mustard").
